Presented for the Scouting collector is this ca. 1926-1930 Robbins Type 1D BSA Eagle Scout medal from a recently acquired collection of BSA medals, patches, and uniforms. This medal is in absolutely untouched, uncleaned, as-found condition; just the way you like to see them. The style of eagle on this medal conforms to the Robbins 1D type. It has the "BSA" on the chest, an open beak, and the straight line where the tail feathers meet the body on the reverse. The sterling silver eagle and scroll are nicely toned to gray/black with some irridescence. The silk ribbon on this specimen is fairly clean, but there is a little worn spot on the reverse white stripe. This medal has the added feature of bronze and silver pinback palms on the obverse. The original wire knot is also present. The pin, hinge, and roller catch are present and perfectly functional. The scroll is properly marked "STERLING" near the hinge. A fine, awarded specimen of the Eagle Scout medal as would be correct for the the 1926-1930 period when the Robbins Company manufactured this style. This would also make a great gift to a deserving Eagle Scout of the present day. Compare the quality of current badges with Robbins Type 4 or earlier badges and you will see there is no comparison! This is just a super helmet! I have only seen a handful of originals that use the sun helmet as a helmet cover. I didn't think that I would sell this one, but times change. Type 90 helmet that shows battle damage and the damage corresponds to the sun helmet/cover. The chinstraps have been cut (dead man's straps). There are no pads in the liner and the date is not ledgible. Net is also original, this helmet hasn't been messed with since it was brought back. Has capture tag to the GI that brought it home. If you like salty, all original combat helmets, you can't miss out on this one.
