Japanese WW II NLF officer`s sword, “Nagamitsu”

This is a Japanese WW II Naval landing Force officer`s sword in type 44 mountings. The blade is signed "Nagamitsu ??"?and no arsenal stamp on the tang. Nagamitsu was an army-commissioned sword smith worked at Okayama prison in Okayama prefecture during WW2 time period and listed in John Slough`s book page 123. The blade is traditional hand forged, water tempered blade. It is in war time polish, no stain, no scratch and in near mint condition. The temper line is ko-gunome temper with choji ashi active pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the tips. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no nicks, no crack and cutting edge is razor sharp. The scabbard is ishime-ji lacquer finish wood scabbard, no dent, no bend and in near mint condition. The handle is tight fit and tsuka-ito wrapping is also in mint condition. The lock mechanism works fine. It is heavy and healthy blade. The blade measures 25 1/2" cutting edge, 1 1/4" width, 7 1/2mm thickness at the notch and 39" in the mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Accept pay pal.
