MAURY 8″ Artillery Luger P-08 HOLSTER & Wood STOCK Buttstock SET German WWI

This auction is for an original German Luger leather P-08 holster and wood solder stock assembly. The holster comes complete with original loading/take down tool & cleaning rod. The inside flap of the holster is two rectangle ink stamps [IAR 7.5] & [B A W] are my best guesses. The tip of the leather cap that covering the mounting hardware on the stock is marked "MAURY & CO." / "OFFENBACH _M" (VM or AM) and is otherwise unmarked or markings are obscured by the leather shows considerable use, staining and ware. One retaining flap on the cover is missing and the stitching on the back strap is parted in a couple of places. If this brave soldier could talk, oh the stories it could tell. Perfect condition for light use or to display a pistol. The wood shoulder stock is a flat board 13-1/2 inches long with inletting at the end for the steel mounting hardware. The end has 70% to 80% original finish and is marked with serial number 8107, a straight four digits with no suffix letter. Affixed to the right long barrel 7.65mm (30cal) or 9mm pistol it would make a handy carbine. The tool is forged from thick flat hardened blued tool-steel. The tool shows milling marks under the finish but is otherwised unmarked It is approximately two inches long by one inch wide & has a flat head screwdriver blade at one end and a hole in the other end that fits the loading button of the Luger P.08 pistol magazine. The screwdriver end fits the grip screws and the firing pin retainer. The bent end has the previously mentioned hole to make it easier to depress the magazine button for loading. The hole fit over the magazine button and the user could then push the tool down with the thumb resting on the folded end. This tool is kept in a special pouch under the top flap of all military issued P08 holsters. Most WWII Army tools will be found with some variation of German Army acceptance stamping or proof mark. The condition is excellent with at least 95% of the matt grey blued finish remaining. No deep scratches, dings, or damage, surface rust or pitting. Whether this is eEarly war military or between the wars commercial it is anyone's guess, the piece partially marked by a known German military maker. The leather looks old, and as an estate find I do not have verifiable age past say about 70 years? All holsters that I have seen that clain to be original from WWII have dates of 1937 on up. In my search I have not found enough WWI vintage pieces to make a meaningful comparison. This piece was found with the WWI style US Army M1912 style Colt 1911 Swivel holster which was listed separately and sold two weeks ago. Best to note it has seen heavy service though is still complete with the leather solder strap in serviceble condition.
