Original 3rd Infantry WWII M1 fixed bale US Army officer Lt Col helmet & Liner

This is an all original front seam fixed bail M-1 helmet with Lt Col badge soldered to the front and an ID on the chinstrap. A Lt.Colonel patch is also on the Liner. The liner has 3rd Infantry markings on either side that were painted over. Both the liner and shell got the same color repaint so I am certain this is an original set and not something that was thrown together. The leather liner chinstrap is a desirable early version with straight edge buckle. The liner was produced by firestone and is in solid condition with no tears to the webbing. The shell has no dents but does have two stress cracks at the rear right of the helmet. There is a laundry number on the long chinstrap which is G-2460.
